Scleroderma Victoria Ambassador – Dyson Heppell
Dyson Heppell was named Captain of the Essendon Football Club on the eve of the 2017 season.
Raised in Gippsland, the Bombers selected Heppell with the eighth overall pick in the 2010 National Draft. He made an immediate impact collecting 20 possessions and a rising star nomination in his AFL debut. Since that day he has been a mainstay of the Essendon midfield.
Heppell is a midfielder capable of winning the contested ball and then using it well on the outside. He’s played 106 out of a possible 112 games in his first five seasons and won the best and fairest in 2014.

Dyson has a connection to Scleroderma as his Grandmother (maternal) passed away from the disease.
Since becoming an Ambassador, Dyson has been pro-active in working with Scleroderma Victoria to increase awareness of the disease and raise much needed funds. Scleroderma Victoria is proud to have Dyson as an Ambassador and we look forward to continue to work with him into the future.
